11 THE PROPHET’S SAYINGS TO Encourage OPTIMISM

Many who do not know him and have not learned his life sometimes think of the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad as full of unfavourable or harsh messages. All appear to be focused on his sayings about the Day of Judgement and Hellfire, while his vocal notes of happy news and fruitful jobs are easily missed.

After all, God described the mission of Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, as follows, “O Prophet, indeed We have sent you as a witness (Shahid) and a bringer of good tidings (Basheer) and a warner (Nazeer). And one who invites to Allah (Daee) , by His permission, and an illuminating lamp (Sirajan Munira)” [Al-Ahzab 33:45-46]. And one who invites Allah (Daee)

To all around him, the Prophet Muhammad was a light of hope. It would exude optimism from his ever-beaming face. His words of warning or good news motivated constructive action.

Here is a collection of the Prophet’s influential sayings to enable us under all situations to remain hopeful and profitable.

1. Be a Positive News Bearer

Give you good news, and don’t scare people away. Make it easy and don’t make it complicated (Abu Dawud).

2. Optimism is the Worship Act

“Hoping for good is also Allah’s act of worship” (Tirmidhi and Hakim).

“There’s no infection and there’s no bad omens, but I like optimism… [It’s] a good word for optimism.”

3. About your Dua Be optimistic & certain (Supplication)

“Supplicate Allah Almighty and be certain that your prayer will be answered” (Tirmidhi).

4. Strong faithful should not make excuses

“The strong believer is best and more beloved to Allah than the weak believer, although there’s good in each. Desire that which can bring you benefit, and seek help from Allah and don’t subside to incapacity. If something happens to you, don’t say, ‘If only I had done such-and-such.’ Rather say, ‘The decree of Allah. He does what He will.’ Otherwise you’ll open yourself up to the action of Shaitan” (Muslim).

5. Do Well Regardless of Treatment by Some

Do not be your own mindless people, claiming that you will treat them better if they treat you well and that you will do wrong if they do wrong. But (rather) get used to doing right if people do good and not doing wrong if they do worse (Tirmidhi).

6. In hard times, be careful & optimistic

If anyone refrains from asking others, Allah will make him comfortable, and if anyone attempts to make himself self-sufficient, Allah will make him self-sufficient. And whoever stays patient, he will be made patient by Allah. Nobody can be granted a finer and greater gift than humility (Bukhari).

7. Good Think about God

Allah the Best said, ‘I am as my servant feels I am. When he mentions me, I am with him. I will mention him to myself if he mentions me; and if he mentions me in an assembly, I will mention him in an assembly greater than that. If he draws the length of a hand near me, I draw the length of an arm near him. And if he comes walking to me, I’ll go to him at pace (Hadith Qudsi).

8. Allows a Way Out Istighfar

“Whoever does a lot of Istighfar (asking for forgiveness), Allah will provide him with a way out of every concern he has, and will solve all his troubles and provide him with the livelihood of sources he has not known” (Ahmad).

9. A Believer’s Affair is still optimistic

Wonderful is the conviction of the believer that in all matters there is good for him and this is not the case for anyone but the believer. If he is satisfied, so he is thankful to Allah, and then it is nice for him. If he is injured, then he displays patience and then he is fine (Muslim).

10. Hope at the time of death prevails over anxiety

When our Prophet had made peace with him, he went to the young man on his deathbed and asked him, ‘How are you feeling?’ ‘The young man said,’ I have a lot of hope from Allah, but I fear for my sins as well.’ The Prophet said, ‘Allah fulfils his aspirations and grants him security from terror, the believer who has these two thoughts concurrently at such a moment’ (Tirmidhi).

11. Till you last breath, be optimistic & constructive

“If the Day of Resurrection has been set upon one of you, while a sapling (small plant) is in his hand, then let him plant it” (Ahmad).
